Catarina Pereira (born 13 June 1990) is a Portuguese pop singer and actress. She competed in Festival da Canção 2010, with the song "Canta Por Mim", finishing in second place, even winning the public voting.[1]

Catarina was invited by Carlos Coelho and Andrej Babic (the same duo responsible for the big hit Senhora do mar) to perform their song Canta Por Mim (In English: Sing For Me) for the Portuguese contest Festival da Canção 2010, the national selection method for the Eurovision Song Contest. Since the day it was presented by RTP, the song became a fan-favourite in Portugal and around Europe. It was one of the most searched songs on Youtube during the Eurovision season and the most played on RTP's website. On the March 4th, Catarina performed in the second semi-final, finishing 1st with 4614 votes (phone calls), winning a place in the final. In the final evening (March 6) Catarina performed as number 8, preceding the winning song Há dias assim performed by Filipa Azevedo. Despite being the big favourite of the Portuguese viewers (12 points from the televoting, after receiving 10920 phone calls), Catarina finished 2nd in the overall voting, since she only came 5th the jury's scoreboard.

Some weeks after the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, Catarina was nominated for several awards at the annual Esctoday National Final Awards 2010. She won two awards for Best Pop/Dance Song and Best Female Performance.

In the same year, Catarina was chosen by the local OGAE to represent Portugal in the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2010 with the same song she competed in Festival da Canção 2010. She finished 3rd after receiving 203 points from the other 21 participating countries and the guest juries.
